Recently, a US brand picked up a simple ₹100 desi jhola, called it an “Indian Souvenir Tote,” slapped a $48 price tag on it… and yeah — big profits. 💸
This isn’t innovation.
This is branding + capitalism + confidence.
🧠 Desi Product, Foreign Profit — Kyun hota hai aisa?
Aur yeh sirf jhola nahi hai:
🥛 Haldi → “Golden Latte”
🧈 Ghee → “Clarified Butter”
👜 Jhola → “Exotic Handcrafted Tote”
Meanwhile… asli karigar abhi bhi ₹300 din ke liye mehnat kar raha hai, bina kisi brand ke naam ke.
Heartbreak hota hai, no?
💡 Marketing Ka Lesson:
We’re not behind on talent or tradition.
We’re just behind on branding and ownership.
What’s missing:
❌ Indian-led storytelling
❌ Artisan-first D2C platforms
❌ Brand-building mindset
❌ IP protection & cultural positioning
This shows clearly:
Culture ≠ Commodity… until we monetize it ourselves.
🚨 Reality Check:
👏 Claps toh mil jaate hain…
💸 But paisa? Foreign labels le jaate hain.
India needs to stop being the supplier of cool
and start being the owner of value.
🧠 Food for Thought:
. What if Indian artisans had their own D2C brands?
. What if IP rights were part of the school syllabus?
. What if “Make in India” was more than just a slogan?

Imagine the global scene:
From Banarasi to Brooklyn — lekin brand banaye hum.
👚 Desi Chawal Bag, Designer Jacket – Kya Baat Hai!

Where a rice bag becomes runway-worthy. Unreal.
Bas ek aur din, ek aur “Inspired by India” fashion stunt.
Ek viral reel dikha raha hai kaise ek simple Indian rice bag — haan, wahi jisme aap chawal le jaate ho — ko high-end fashion jacket bana diya gaya abroad.
Aur price? Well… let’s just say aap usmein 6 mahine ka ration bhar sakte ho.
Is this fashion? Or is this just repackaged culture with a mark-up?
Yeh sirf design ka game nahi hai…
Yeh branding ka boss move hai — jo hum bhi kar sakte hain.
